Urban Pause
(Degree in Architecture Studio 6)
Leveraging the rainy days in Malaysia, Urban Pause is a public space that focuses on temporal moments created during and after the rain. Its temporal concept allows people's perception and experience to always change, therefore, allowing them to revisit this area with fond memories.
Tukang Memorabilia
(Degree in Architecture Studio 5)
Kajang is a place that is slowly being overtaken and forgotten. Old workshops, crafts and shops that used to be the hot spots of the area are slowly losing its popularity. Hence, a community centre is designed to allow Kajang to have a centrepiece. As the new centrepiece, the locals can now share memories and their crafts there without being lost to urbanisation.
A few notable features are is the kinetic facade, designed with consideration to the site conditions as well as allowing the locals to add a touch of personalization on the window sills; there is also a wall of bricks in the main stairs that involves the community by allowing them to carve their name and place the bricks during construction.
